Salon Collective

The University of Toronto Salon Collective is a creative and experimental nexus that puts performance and research together for direct public interaction and outreach. It serves to provide the U of T Music Graduate community with opportunities to share their work with their peers in a supportive and intellectually stimulating environment.

We’re very excited to announce that submissions for the University of Toronto Salon Collective are now open! The submission form can be found here: https://forms.gle/sPGkWDuivEpAqeYu8.

Submissions for any performance or presentation are welcome at any point during the academic year. A submission will require some brief logistical and contact information, as well as a short abstract (ca. 250 words) describing your project and approach. The Salon Collective prioritizes submissions involving members of marginalized groups, as well as submissions that bring together research and performance in a creative and engaging way. Submissions will be anonymized and evaluated by a reading committee, and results will be provided within ca. 2 weeks of submission.

If you have any questions about the submission or evaluation process, please contact Club President, Benjamin Louwersheimer (ben.louwersheimer@mail.utoronto.ca), or Club Treasurer, Emma Soldaat (emma.soldaat@mail.utoronto.ca). Please also be in touch if you want to be involved with the organization of the Salon Collective’s events; there are many roles available, including positions on the reading committee, advertising committee, and logistical committee.
